If you could follow anyone around for 24 hours, who would it be? Thru|Lines asked New Yorkers just like you!
If you could follow anyone around for 24 hours, who would it be? Thru|Lines asked New Yorkers just like you!
Here’s a behind-the-scenes re-cap of KickStart Thru|Lines for those of you who may have missed it or just want to relive the night!

7 p.m.
Doors haven’t opened yet, but we hear that there is a large crowd outside. You can feel the excitement building inside GreenhouseNYC as we make some last-minute adjustments.
7:15 p.m.
Doors open. The large crowd is trickling in. Heartland Brewery is handing out free beer (cherry lager, anyone?) and snapping photos on one side of the room. Toni Ann and her team from the Brooklyn Treat Shoppe start mingling with their delicious peppermint pattie and pina colada cake bites. Confession time: we ate more than one.
7:30 p.m.
Spotted: Gilbert Gottfried downstairs while Ed and Evan rehearse their lines upstairs.

8:10 p.m.
Ed and Evan take the stage to introduce Thru|Lines and our host for the evening, Gilbert Gottfried! Gilbert starts off with a New York joke and then veers off into other territory. Jokes will not be repeated for obvious reasons.

8:17 p.m.
Gilbert seems to get a kick out of the word Kickstarter.
8:25 p.m.
The new footage video plays as PUBLIQuartet plays live. Ed and Evan watch from the side of the stage. When it’s over, it’s clear that it has made an impression on the audience. “I started crying,” we heard someone nearby say. “The music was really touching,” her companion replied.

8:35 p.m.
Sailey Williams, Amanda Gookin and Father Juan take turns speaking about their experience with Thru|Lines. We also watched a video message from Senator Squadron.

8:50 p.m.
Live auction time! We had some big spenders in the house.
9:10 p.m.
We launch Kickstarter!

9:25 p.m.
The night continues with great tunes and even better company.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this event a success! If you couldn’t make it but still want to be a part of the project please take a look at our Kickstarter page.

Amanda Gookin spent about a year perfecting the music for Thru|Lines. Watch Ed and Evan react as they listen to the soundtrack performed live for the first time.

Milah’s tour of NYC. If this doesn’t make you smile, we don’t know what else will!
Okay, guys, look: We know it’s gross outside. We know you’re probably not really thinking about spring right now. But you should be! Our list of the 101 best things to do in NYC in the spring is live now, and it’s packed with really great things to do for the next three months. (We’re especially excited for the DeKalb Market, pictured above, which starts up again in early April.) Start marking your calendars now!
We catch up with stylist Meeny six months after she got ticketed for giving away free haircuts.
